Alex Erdekian is a writer and editor living in Brooklyn. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College, where she teaches undergraduates, and was previously Editor-in-Chief of The Brooklyn Review. For her work on The Review, she received the 2025 Bonnie Perlsweig Mintz Award for Editing.
She’s also a contributor at Condé Nast Traveler. She joined the magazine in 2019 and has held roles as the Travel Bookings Editor and Assistant Editor. Her travel journalism has led her to Florence’s underground street art scene; the surf town of Sayulita, Mexico; and Oahu’s North Shore.
She’s also worked with Leon & Son Wine in Brooklyn, as their Digital Marketing Manager, and written for Thrillist, TripAdvisor, Boston magazine, and others. She has written about New York City nightlife, her love for vintage denim, and Honolulu hotels. She is at work on a novel and short story collection, and her fiction is forthcoming from Chicago Quarterly Review.
